About Benjamin Speth
One of my character traits is that I am passionate. I put passion into every project that I have. This was me in high school. Two of the classes that I took in High School were animal science and biotechnology. My teachers commented on how passionate I was about the work I was doing. This is also me in adult life. When I was a Medicare sales team lead at Connection Point, I put my passion into helping those that I led. I strived to help them understand their potential and to help them find their passion in helping the elderly find the right plans.I am also dependable. In high school I would arrive early and stay late to help my teachers set up and clean up class experiments. In college, I set up team meetings and rallied team members to accomplish tasks assigned to them.I have completed my Healthcare Administration degree at BYU-I. I have learned many different things about how Healthcare works and how to lead people toward a common goal. I have learned that there are many different ways to bring a group of people together. I have worked on teams to accomplish class projects. One of these projects was in my Healthcare Strategy class. I worked with three other class members to develop an environmental analysis of a company’s competitors and current state of the healthcare sector in their area. From the environmental analysis we created a strategic plan for the company to compete in that environment.In my position at Granger Medical I have put my passion for healthcare to work. I have helped develop and streamline workflows. The most recent workflow that I helped streamline was the Pediatric Vaccine for Children (VFC). With the pediatric VFC I worked to make the workflow more simple and easier to work through. I helped create a Microsoft power app to calculate the VFC program discounts. I worked on a small team to create the workflows for the Center for Breast Care. I worked with the medical assistants and mammography techs to help understand how to generate patient estimates. This allowed Granger Medical to help patients better understand their out of pocket costs.As a Patient Benefit Advisor and as a Medicare sales agent I have had many talks with people about how healthcare does not work for them. For some they are either not getting the care they need or it is too expensive to get care. This is part of the reason why I chose to become a Healthcare Administrator. I want to use my passion to help facilitate high quality affordable healthcare. I know that the right person in the right place can make a difference. That is what I want to be.
