Fastenal's slogan is growth through customer service. When I started at Fastenal I worked as a picker, which is someone who fills orders of parts to be later sorted and shipped to their destinations. Once a new position opened, I jumped at the opportunity. My job title now is Automated Storage Retrieval System Technician (AKA ASRS Maintenance). With this position, my duty is to maintain the systems that bring stored parts to the pickers. These systems consist of five pallet cranes, and eight tote cranes, and the conveyor systems which connect the work stations to these cranes. Overall, I am responsible with maintaining theses systems to ensure the flow of work is maintained and the other employees can accomplish their mission in a timely manner.

The position of Lead cook has many responsibilities. While working in the kitchen at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Mckinney, TX, I started at a low position of line cook. My duties in this position included preparing properly portioned and prepared food for patients in accordance with their diet restrictions and their specific requests. I took it upon myself to learn as many positions as I could while I worked there, and over time I oversaw the entire area of patient services. For a majority of my time spent in this position, there was a shortage of employees working there, so time management was a must. I had to be ready to fill any postition within a moments notice.

As a food service specialist, my responsibilities ranged from distributing supplies to maintaining and repairing equipment. I always strived to go above and beyond with this and I took control whenever I could.
