Planned, Organized, and Hosted the MSE Annual Industry Night. Re-introduced Industry Night for the Materials Science and Engineering Department for the first time after a multiple-year hiatus. The event has been a re-occurring annual success since.Industry Night 2020: Planned, Organized, and Hosted the first virtual Industry Night as a result of the pandemic. The event saw 220 students and over 20+ unique industry partners attend.Industry Night 2018: The first Industry Night for the Materials Science and Engineering department in multiple years. An in-person event that saw 125 students and 12 unique industry partners attend resulting in the most successful Engineering Industry Night at McMaster despite the smaller size of the faculty.Hosted 1M03 (First-year Materials Science and Engineering Course) review for midterms and exams to over 100 students both in-person and virtually (live-streamed). Provided review for multiple units and went over practice problems with detailed solutions. Received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback via anonymous feedback forms.

Worked as the Metallurgical specialist of an R&D team Participating in the development of processes, components, and equipment selection.Developed a new method for testing parts using automated functions on the laboratory microscope to improve the efficiency of testing and remove aspects of human error and biases from the procedure. The procedure is still being used to this day.Assessed the physical structure and properties of various metal materials used in the products to observe failure modes and physical/chemical performance of the parts. Produced reports summarizing results, observations, and recommendations for future iterations of the product.

Worked under the supervision of Dr. Andre Phillion continuing the testing and research of the previous work done over the summer.

Worked on two research projects under the supervision of Dr. Andre Phillion. Built various samples of Ti-1Al-8V-5Fe (Ti185) through methods of Additive Manufacturing such as Selective Laser Melting (SLM). As well, the effects of cooling rate on solid aluminum of various chromium contents were observed (Al-0.75Fe-0.75Mg). Samples were casted manually using the proper composition of master alloys. This position greatly developed communication and time management skills.
