Every scientist has that catalyst that inspires them to seek the truth about our world; for me, that spark has been proteins. Protein interactions within the cell, and how the structure of the protein dictates its function, are of interest to me.I have worked in a couple of labs, with my most recent project focusing on protein expression with a side project investigating reduction potential. Other projects involved cell culture for extracting extracellular vesicles. However, I also have the desire to be a public advocate for science, and to inspire others to pursue this path. As a result, my two-year tenure as President of Shepherd University Chemistry Society increased community outreach and chemistry enrichment events.Currently, I'm pursuing a graduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, while performing duties as a teaching assistant. My specialties include Cell Culture, Protein Expression, SDS Page, and Event Planning.
