I am a third-year psychology major on the pre-med track at Northeastern University, with a minor in Spanish for Healthcare. My passion for medicine has been shaped by academic pursuits and hands-on clinical experiences, including a six-month co-op at an orthopedic clinic in Valencia, Spain. During my time there, I worked entirely in Spanish, performing and assisting in consultations, physicals, physical X-rays, MRIs, administering injections, and physical therapy. I speak Spanish at a professional level along with Italian, and my ability to communicate effectively across cultures has strengthened my resolve to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in diverse healthcare settings.Beyond my clinical experience, I have developed strong leadership and communication skills during two summers as a camp counselor and theater specialist at an overnight camp for teens. Managing groups, leading activities, and mentoring children have taught me how to navigate dynamic environments with patience and empathy—skills I see as crucial to a successful medical career. These roles enhanced my ability to connect with individuals from different backgrounds and handle high-pressure situations, both of which are key attributes for a future physician.As I prepare for medical school, I am committed to building on these experiences to pursue a career where I can combine my medical knowledge, leadership abilities, and cultural competencies to make a positive impact on patients’ lives.
