EngMe! is a student-led, college-enabled peer mentoring programme. As an EngMe! Tutor I am responsible for running weekly sessions for first year engineering students to help with their transition to university and provide them with support during their studies.

Syft is an analytical instrument manufacturer of Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometry (SIFT-MS) instruments. Through this internship I contributed to an airborne molecular contaminant compound interference identification project within the Semiconductor team. • My key project deliverable was to develop the Syft database for both positive and negative reagent ions for interferent compounds. • I developed practical experience using a Syft Voice200infinty instrument, permeation oven, mass flow controllers and back pressure regulators. • I refined my understanding in the fields of analytical chemistry and ion chemistry.

Waitaki Biosciences is a natural nutritional product manufacturer. Through this internship, I contributed to a microalgae feasibility study and was involved in new product development for the Research and Development team. • My key project deliverable was to submit a research project and feasibility study on microalgae cultivation using industrial process plant waste streams. • I was involved in new product development at both a laboratory and industrial scale, where I gained experience using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, rotary evaporator and freeze dryer.
