Completely reworked the data model within Snowflake for one of Olo’s critical products. This involved interviewing customers and translating their needs into technical requirements, designing easily understood and broadly useable tables and views with Kimball dimensional modeling, and creating clear and compelling Looker dashboards for internal and external customers. By utilizing indexing and pre-aggregation, I reduced Looker loading times from 2-5 minutes to under 5 seconds. I was also able to drop costs for a particularly complex model from $10 to $0.15 per day by designing dbt pipelines around incremental loads and cluster keys.Created batch and near real-time data pipelines from a variety of structured (MSSQL, Postgres), semi-structured (csv, json, xml), and NoSQL (dynamodb, mongodb) sources, all ingested into Snowflake using Pyspark, Glue, Kafka, EMR, or others, depending on the source. I developed the testing and alerting methodologies used within our team to ensure pipelines remain operational and that our data quality is high and ready for customer use, both in the staging and transformed layers of our warehouse.I worked with data analysts and business users to evangelize Snowflake as the new data warehouse, build confidence among the company to make the switch, and refactor Looker & Tableau SQL to utilize the new warehouse. We determined key metrics, and ensured that there is only one source of truth for each.

Project management of an end-to-end machine learning pipeline in Google Cloud Platform, on a team composed of data scientists and data engineers.
