Sometimes my timelines are not completely up to date, so if you're curious, be sure to check out my certifications section to see if I've already gotten one of the items on my education plan.I am an app developer with 2+ years of experience and no degree, so I often upskill via certification courses. I usually determine which certifications to get based on the needs of my company, then I also get supplemental certifications (i.e. a programming language) that will support a primary certification (i.e. a CRM app). For example, if my company needs a Quickbase developer, then I'm going to plan on getting certified in in Quickbase, then supplement that certification with a programming language. This method of building my knowledge base is helpful to me and my company because I can directly point to projects that I've built using skills I learned via a certification course, thereby making it easier for me to justify my value as an employee. It also makes it easier for my managers to delegate me to lead projects because they can directly tie my certifications to projects I've done for them, thereby informing them that I may be able to assist or lead other projects that they need done.
