Technical Development ScientistGenentech Aug 2015 - Jul 2018San Francisco Bay AreaI am primarily interested in exploring and understanding how structural dynamics shapes protein behaviors, from catalysis to binding to degradation. My group at Genentech tries to understand how the interplay between formulation and protein dynamics governs structural and chemical stability. I then search for a particular formulation that will provide the safest and most deliverable compound with an appropriate shelf-life through early-Phase clinical trials. I also utilize in silico tools, such as molecular dynamics, or hydrogen exchange experiments to aid in early discovery or better understand develop ability of our therapeutic antibodies. I am like a child walking into a toy store, five days a week (it would be seven days a week but I've been told that one needs a work-life balance).Living in San Francisco means that I play outdoors most of the time (when I'm not working, of course). You’ll often find me hiking with my wife and daughter, sailing on the bay, or cycling.
