Manager, Fining Technology Group, R & D Science & EngineeringO-I Aug 2012 - Sep 2015Perrysburg, Ohio, Us -
Principal Scientist, R & D Science & EngineeringO-I Nov 2011 - Jul 2012Perrysburg, Ohio, UsProfessional Experience:Good knowledge and understanding of GMP manufacturing practices and implementation. Work cross functionally with various teams across the R & D innovation. Lead and direct team on projects and drive products from concept, feasibility to commercialization. Develop product development plan (PDP), define project deliverables and milestones. Strength enhanced coating: developed a thin layer transparent coating and its application process. The coating significantly increased bottle’s burst pressure and overall bottles' strength. Energy efficiency and emission project: Focus on the fuel combustion and emission (NOx and SOx) control. Build and implement thermodynamic and transport mathematical model to simulate and predict different combustion process efficiencies. Analysis and recommend different heat recovery technologies. Identify engineering challenges and provide engineering solutions for the process scale up. -
Process Continuous Improvement Leader, Photosensitive ProductsEastman Kodak Company 2009 - 2011Rochester, New York, UsI am very proud to have excellent 2 years in this amazing historical and great company!Lead production line continuous improvement activities to improve aluminum foil photosensitive coating productions. Daily managed production lines & equipment; dealt with product quality, yield, and lines’ efficiencies. Worked with maintenance team to sustained all process operation at the high performance level to satisfied customer’s needs. Good ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects; Interact with R&D personnel to test R & D new products. Wrote technical reports based upon the trials’ results to support R & D new product development.Provided Six Sigma knowledge and methodology to implement production capacity and uptime improvement. The projects completed in 2011 significantly increased lines’ profit and the yield improved.Worked on substrate surface treatment, including surface etches and grinding, surface roughness and energy control. web tension control and adjustment; good practice in high hazard chemical environment (Acid, base, HF environment). -
Group Leader, Science & Technology Center (Stc), Process Scale Up GroupGuardian Industries 2002 - 2009Auburn Hills, Michigan, UsGuardian Is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of float glass products. It has 25 float plants located around the globe. I had a great experience worked over 9 years in its Science & Technology Center. Professional Experience:Led STC process scale-up team to transform lab product to commercial production. Wrote equipment and process specifications and finalized the equipment. Conducted new line installation and line function acceptable test. Worked closely with different vendors and contractors. Good experience in clean room specification and operation; familiar with USA NFPA 86 and Europe high temperature oven standards. Good experience in liquid filtration and web and substrate static charge control.Led team and scaled up new product of anti-reflective coating for photovoltaic module application in 2009-2010 in Europe (Patent is applied, first inventor). Worked in Europe plants more than 200-day/yr for new product commercialization. Own and manage process during process initial commercialization, ensure all coating equipment consistently performs according to designed specifications. In 2006-2008, led team and launched anti-UV coating product in Dewitt IW. The product requested to deposit the Nano-coating in 3 microns’ dry thickness and uniformity ±5% cross the 2.5mX3m large scale substrates. Developed anti-glare UV block optical coating in 2005-2006. The coating formulation and the coating process were patented in 2007 (Patent first inventor). As a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, conducted activities in production troubleshoots and product quality control. Used Six Sigma methodologies to improve existing mirror production efficiency and production cost control. Good at developments of SPC, CIP, and SOP.Coating film analysis and characterization by using tools of GC, TGA, Profilometer, AFM, XPS, micro-image system, Lambda 900/950, QUV chamber, HT/HH chamber. -
