My name is Benjamin Nobuo Watanabe and I am currently serving in the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment as an information technology specialist. I am planning to transition to the civilian workforce in Summer 2024. I have garnered various skills over the course of my service to include the maintenance and processing of classified and unclassified information systems, forward deployed information technology and help desk operations, and have considerable experience networking computer systems and radio technologies. My goal is to expand my knowledge of cyber security, network engineering, and data-centric technologies as the role of technology increases in our daily lives. I will also be utilizing programs to continue earning industry certifications and have already earned CCNA, and CompTIA Security+. Presently, I do not see any obstacles I have not prepared for in pursuing higher education. My previous experience in balancing demanding training and deployments in a high operational tempo environment will serve me well as I continue to learn and work towards achieving success.
