• Investigated filtering techniques for multi-agent collaborative navigation in a global frame using ultra-wideband ranging and communication in order to mitigate the effects of multi-path and sparse global frame measurement information. • Designed the addition of odometry measurements and low level drivers to a GPS/IMU state estimation system for MIT’s entry to the DARPA Urban Challenge, improving the reliability of the Kalman filter under sparse GPS updates. • Simulated a camera view and feature tracking for a feasibility study on a Mars airplane visual/inertial navigation system.

• Implemented hardware and software for a fully automated redundant system in order to acquire flight information, generate a pointing solution, and control attitude of an experimental far infrared telescope aboard a high altitude balloon. • Coordinated with NASA software engineers to build upon a NASA developed framework to analyze data and command a custom data acquisition electronics set provided by NIST, used to acquire science data from a telescope receiver. • Developed algorithms to automatically tune multiple stages of non-linear Superconducting Quantum Interference Device amplifiers for a radio receiver on NRAO’s Green Bank Telescope, saving the user more time for observations. • Automated the control and cycling of a multistage closed cryogenic system using both C and Java in a Linux environment.

• Implemented a system of handheld scanners and an inventory and accounting database that allowed for personnel to easily conduct transactions in a warehouse environment. This effort generated a new product sold to several local warehouses.
