I first started working when I was in 6th grade, mowing lawns. I learned responsibility and how to work hard during the hot summer months. Once I graduated high school, I worked three consecutive summers for Tolunay Wong Engineers as an intern. I learned many different abstract things during this time. Including a small understanding of the geotechnical aspect of pre-construction, how to drill and sample different wells, as responsibility. After taking construction classes at Texas A&M I completed a 9 month internship with Tellepsen Builders. I learned how to identify different critical aspects of the construction process including but not limited to, submittals, requests for information, inspections, punch list, and closeout. Before I graduated I took another summer internship with Streetlights Residential, where I learned critical close out/ punch list aspects as well as underground utilities work. I currently work as a project engineer at Vaughn Construction in Austin, Texas.
