I joined Mouchel for a 12 month placement in their Bristol office and worked in their highways team. I made good progress through the year and I matured much as an engineer, developing the below skills:• The design of strategic highways to the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)• The design of high profile local authority projects• The preparation of a specification for highways works to the Manual for Contract Documents of Highways Works (MCHW)• The production of Bill of Quantities• Using AutoCAD to create a wide range of detailed drawings for tender, construction and clarity of communication• Attended site of proposed works for data collection and verification• Helping to promote engineering to a secondary school at an industry day

Employed to produce and send mortgage redemption statements for accounts that were approaching the end of their term. Later seconded to amendments team where I was responsible for processing changes to customer payment details.

Deeds Team - Handled deed requests from solicitors and other colleagues.

Including Christmas work during university.• Required strong interpersonal skills to deal with both customers and colleagues• Provided a high standard of Customer Service to uphold company image• Accurate handling of cash every shift• Extra responsibility taken on when trained in independent use of kiosk• Correct application of the company Health and Safety policy when handling food products
