Responsible for managing and completing both pre-award and post-award activities. This includes all manners of grant applications, including NIH, DOD, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and other foundations. Is the primary liaison between SCRI Faculty and appropriate business offices, e.g. Office of Sponsored Research, Office of Research Finance, and Accounts Payable. Serves in multiple cross-dimensional teams in order to build better department rapport, as well as improving day to day operations and business standards. Is the main point of contact between the team of GCAs and the Center Business Manager.

Greater Seattle Area

Responsible for program operations, focusing primarily in management of all departmental subcontracts, from creation to end. Negotiates budgets and coordinates with UW Office of Sponsored Programs and research site institutions to ensure complete and proper subcontract agreements. Expert in the life cycle of grants, budgets, and program operations for an international enterprise.• Develops and builds complex electronic spreadsheets to analyze and forecast budgets and expenditures for projects, statistical and financial reports for the Center’s Leadership Team, and to manage the 75+ subcontracts that are presently ongoing in the department.• Provides financial data, ad-hoc analysis, budget forecasts, and other financial support to senior personnel.• Oversees ICRC budgets that exceeds a total of $100 Million Dollars.• Financial Manager for the State Department (PEPFAR) DREAMS Grant, awarded at over $3 Million Dollars. Reports financial data to State Department on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.• Assists with preparation of governmental and private grant and contract proposals, working closely with the Principle Investigator and ICRC Team to develop and modify grant proposal budgets to meet research needs • Provides grant close-out duties, to include final progress reports and post-award processes.• Nominated for 2017 University of Washington Distinguished Staff Award.

Responsible for departmental purchasing (annual budget of $150 Million Dollars) which included ensuring proper purchase reconciliation and budget allocation. Developed expertise in the University of Washington’s procurement requirements and process. Has shown excellent ability in processing complex orders and resolving issues with vendors. • Reconciled budget activity reports and prepared budget information for PI review, while showing exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Facilitated the launch of an internal procurement process.• Managed 25 department projects independently, while showing organizational skills and follow through. • Developed materials for internal guidelines of grant policies and compliance standards.
