De Taalsector is a Ghent-based company that provides advice, training, documentation and network opportunities to language professionals, such as translators, interpreters, copywriters and teachers.As an intern communications officer, my main project is to grow awareness for De Taalsector, to improve its image and initiate conversations with both language professionals and the people who buy language-related services. This entails a variety of tasks:- Devising and implementing a social media strategy in order to create a strong community around De Taalsector- Stakeholder mapping- Media monitoring- Preparing and organizing the next edition of the conference "The Value of Language" (http://www.thevalueoflanguage.eu/)On a personal note, this job is an occasion for me to improve my knowledge of Dutch, with the aim of becoming perfectly trilingual by the end of the internship.
