I assisted with the preparation of soil samples to be analyzed using mass spectrometry for their gold content. This is a crucial step in the process of mineral exploration because it allows us to pinpoint areas to drill in the hopes of locating high grade gold deposits.

Worked on a project to study magnetic minerals that exist within the Cretaceous-Tertiary (K-T) Boundary rocks from localities in Montana. I personally developed a new procedure for separating magnetic minerals from their host rock that eliminated the use of hand magnets. Additionally, I conducted advanced research to determine the isotopic composition of the Platinum-group elements in these minerals to determine their provenance (terrestrial vs. extraterrestrial).
