With a unique background spanning industries including nonprofits, youth advisory, and film and event production, I took the initiative to study software development in order to become a better manager of my technical team - and found a new career. Now, as an experienced senior developer with over ten years of experience coding, I blend my technical expertise with my business and nonprofit background. A natural leader, I’ve spent most of my career in roles involving leadership, mentorship, or teaching. From early career work leading high-school-aged youth, to mentoring students in a coding bootcamp, to teaching computer science at the graduate level, I’ve frequently taken on an educator role. As an engineer, I’ve often been promoted into formal leadership roles in which I manage and mentor teams. I’m especially passionate about roles that marry business with technology; I enjoy having the opportunity to think about business needs, customer requirements, and how that relates to technical/implementation decisions. The cherry on top is the ability to flex my entrepreneurial muscles and help companies strategize, build, and grow. Technical skills include Ruby, Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery.
