I did not work in engine department, but I was engaged in most maintenance, sandblasting, tank cleaning and navigation onboard.This forth training period was conducted onboard Freja Atlantic, a product tanker with a GRT of 30070.

As a deck cadet I have some level of experience with almost all workspaces and tasks that can be found onboard a merchant vessel. Direct engine I did not, but a reefer vessel needs a lot of maintenance in which cadets help alot.This second and third training period was conducted onboard Ivar and Ditlev Lauritzen which was 2 reefer vessels owned by J. Lauritzen.

The weekend watchman at the maritime boarding school ”Kogtved Søfartsskole” (Kogtved Maritime School) had the overall responsibility for everything within the school property including the students who chose to stay at the school during the weekends. Furthermore the job included supervision and management of the student for various delegated maintenance tasks.

As a dual cadet I have some level of experience with almost all workspaces and tasks that can be found onboard a merchant vessel.This first training period was conducted onboard Clementine Maersk which is a approximately 350 meter long container vessel. The vessel was in route between Europe and the Far East.I spent 2½ month in the Engine and 2½ month on the Bridge.
