As a team lead for application development my responsibilities include developing web and mobile applications, giving input on project architecture and estimates, interviewing developer candidates, and managing a team of 5 developers (local and remote). Since Earthling Interactive is a custom development firm, we get a chance to work with many different technologies but the bulk of my development recently has been in Node.js, React, React Native, and Redux. I really enjoy working with our clients to take their projects from ideas to a functioning products.

As a lead developer on the team behind AkitaBox.com, I continually strive to give our users simple and intuitive, yet powerful tools for facility information management. In addition to web design and development, my responsibilities include interviewing and mentoring new developers and interns, reviewing code changes, providing technical support to our business development team, and shaping policies around our project management and design workflows.

Nearly 10 years of experience working in R&D on an industry leading software suite taught me many valuable skills spanning from software design, development, and debugging techniques to working with customers and the rest of my team to ensure that the product we delivered exceeded their expectations at every opportunity. Moved to a more powerful framework, adding several new features while retaining all key functionality of the older tool. Cross Deployment Scheduling QueryCreated a tool to check appointment availability on multiple Epic installations simultaneously. Results included a link to log into the other deployments while retaining full patient context for scheduling.Designed a new web service for communication between servers. Managed another developer who implemented the service while developing the search and user interface myself.
