Managing the day-to-day operations of the business as well as being part of the leadership team to plan and chart out the road ahead.

Working in an SME is an eye-opening experience. It has allowed me as an engineer to explore many facets of a business such as finance, procurement, sales and digitising business processes. Definitely the fastest way for me to learn and grow as a person.

I am grateful for the scholarship and opportunity to have had my first full-time job at SP Group's Distribution Network (West) Section. It was an insightful experience that taught me a great deal about myself and the working world. I learned how to manage my time effectively, work independently and as part of a team, and deal with difficult customers.I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and supervisors, who were always willing to help me learn and grow. One of the many lessons learned is even though planning is essential to project management, it needs to be coupled with creative problem solving on-the-go as things do not always go according to plan. I am also grateful for the opportunity to have made a positive impact on the company, even in a small way.I am confident that the skills and insights I gained during my time at SP Group will be valuable to me in my future career. I am grateful for the opportunity to have had this experience, and I look forward to applying what I have learned in my next role.

I took the opportunity to do an internship with Maxima during the summer break of my second year in NTU. I understudied an electrical engineer from Bombardier Inc. during a joint project for the retrofitting of several LRT cars for the principle SMRT and gained hands-on skills and experience that complements well with an academic degree.
