In my current role as Chief Purser I am responsible for ensuring the settlement and balancing of the onboard accounts for up to 2100 passengers as well as the personal accounts for up to 850 crew. Daily I will have soul responsibility of the ship’s administration required by port authorities in order for the ship to be approved for arrivals, departures, customs, excise and immigration.

This was a finance-focused role with responsibility for passenger accounts and end of cruise settlements with concession partners. The aim of this role was to equip me with the specific knowledge and tools I would require facilitating a fast promotion to Chief Purser.

A customer focused management role leading reception teams of up to 15 members of staff on various Marella cruise ships. The focus of this role was ensuring the best possible guest experience as well as producing the legal documentation required by worldwide port authorities allowing the guest embarkation and disembarkation experience to run as smoothly as possible.

A role that focussed on securing the sale of future cruises for passengers onboard. It was my responsibility to recognise and implement marketing opportunities to raise revenue, encourage sales and to record potential sales for the teams on shore to follow up at a later date.
