I’m a cybersecurity professional, data science manager and creative problem solver who helps IT firms, healthcare teams and startups design new models of network infrastructure, design solutions and security systems that improve client adherence and shift existing practices towards more secure alternatives.My passion is to understand and leverage how people, technology, and security systems interact. And to then redesign and implement secured solutions to address and improve the accessibility and ease of security for both people and companies. I strongly believe privacy is a right that should be protected, and I’m passionate about empowering others to take control of their security. My work has led me to see that defaults matter. We shouldn’t have to “opt-out” of tracking and data sharing for every service that we use, for the same reason that allow-lists are inherently more secure than deny-lists.As a student of complex systems, I endeavor to stay at the forefront of these fields. I was involved with early Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) before either exploded onto the scene. I’m constantly learning, growing and evolving having received my CompTIA Security+ certification in July 2020, upon completion of a comprehensive training course by cybersecurity innovator and entrepreneur Marcus J. Carey.
