About Ben Eichner

I am a recent graduate of the College of Business at Ohio University where I double majored in Business Management and Business Analytics. Currently, I work as a program technician for the Farm Service Agency. When I was 12 years old I began working on my family's farm here in Ohio. I was instantly drawn to the work I did on the farm and the people I got to interact with as a result of working there. Part of the reason I chose to attend Ohio University was so that I could be closer to our farm, learn as much as I could about the farming process, and pursue a career in the agriculture industry. If you would like to learn more about me, please feel free to reach out through LinkedIn.

Turf And Cce Customer Account Manager

Urbana, Ohio, United States

Koenig Equipment provides parts, service, and new & used equipment solutions at 15 locations across Indiana and Ohio.As a Turf and CCE Customer Account Manager for Koenig Equipment, I had a number of different tasks. Primarily, I provided new and used equipment solutions for personal, commercial, and governmental accounts. I was also responsible for arranging equipment on the lot to attract potential customers. When it was required, I would travel to the customer's location to complete used evaluations on their current machines that they wished to trade in for a new piece of equipment. While with the company, I traveled to Orlando, Florida to attend a John Deere sales training event that taught us about the new features of John Deere equipment, along with different sales and marketing strategies to use with our customers. My time at Koenig Equipment allowed me to improve several of my professional skills. The first skill that I felt I greatly improved was my customer relationship-building skill. Every customer interaction was different and it was up to me to decide the best course of action to improve the relationship and provide the customer with the best piece of equipment for what they were trying to accomplish. Whether the customer was prepared to purchase that day or needed time to decide it was up to me to periodically check in with the customer to continue to build a working relationship. Another skill I felt I improved was my communication skill. As an account manager, customers would often call me for advice on parts and services needed to keep their equipment in the best shape. It was up to me to communicate with our parts and service departments to provide the customer with the best solution to the problem they were experiencing.

Warehouse Associate

Portland, Maine

The Granite Group Wholesalers, LLC operates as a wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, cooling & water supplies. The Company offers pumps and accessories, fixtures, whirlpools, bath accessories, chemicals, conditioners, and HVAC products. As a warehouse associate at the Granite Group, I have personally picked, packaged and tagged hundreds of orders. My coworkers and I are responsible for all of the stock that enters the store. We need to ensure that all stock is put away in the correct locations when it arrives in the morning so that picking future orders is as easy as possible. When special orders or orders that need to be delivered that day are called in I am always the first one that volunteers to take the company truck and deliver the order so that our customers receive their order on time.During my time at the Granite Group, I have improved and developed a number of skills. Some of these include my customer service, communication, and leadership skills. This past summer, when we all had to fill in for our boss, I had to work closely with two of my coworkers to pick, package and load the largest order we had received since I started working for the company. Accomplishing this task helped me realized that even when I am not put in a leadership position I can be a good leader by leading by example.

Grain Operations Intern

Kenton, Ohio, United States

Heritage Cooperative is headquartered in Delaware, Ohio, and operates all across the state, employing over 500 people. They offer their customers products and services in grain, agronomy, feed, and energy.During my time at Heritage Cooperative, I experienced a number of different tasks and projects. I assisted in the daily weighing of trucks and grading of grain. When a smaller location was short-staffed I was moved there for a week and helped provide farmers with agronomy products. Over my entire summer at Heritage, I completed a 15 part leadership development course that focused on becoming a better leader in the supply chain industry. I feel like this course will help me immensely when I graduate and move into the business world. My final task at the company was to research and present information on upgrading some of the company's equipment to save them money. I presented this information to around 20 members of the leadership team.My time at Heritage Cooperative allowed me to improve upon a number of my professional skills. One of the skills that I think greatly improved while at the company was my customer service skills. Every day it was my job to help grade grain and while this process took place, I would talk to the farmers and get to know each and every one of them. Another skill that I improved was my problem-solving skills. On a number of occasions, I would come into work and do something completely new and that diversified my skill set. I really enjoyed this kind of experience and it made me feel like I was an important piece of the company.
