Project Scientist
Led efforts to develop fiber-based optical techniques for non-destructive, longitudinal assessment of engineered tissue maturation. I developed a multimodal imaging system that combines multispectral fluorescence lifetime imaging with optical coherence tomography in a single fiber optic. This system can be used to monitor structural and compositional changes that occur during engineered tissue maturation, without removing the tissue from the culture environment (biosafety cabinet, bioreactor or incubator). The flexibility and low-cost nature of the fiber optic interface between imaging platform and sample affords this research a significant amount of translational potential.

Successfully developed a handheld, fiber-coupled multiphoton microscope with adaptive motion compensation technology. This instrument was designed for clinical use and was successfully used to acquire high resolution, depth resolved images of human skin in vivo.
