When I was 12 years old I had to deal with a life challenge that no one should have to experience...The loss of my mother. This was a huge awakening for me and showed me that life is not always easy. I had to learn to overcome the challenges of growing up without a mom, and this taught me many different life lessons such as independence, dealing with hard times, and work ethic. My name is Ben Gavran I am a rising college student. I just finished my Senior High School career where I maintained a 3.6 GPA. Along with maintaining an honors GPA I also had the following achievements on top of school: I varsity lettered on my high school water polo team 4/4 years that I playedMy junior season I ended with 42 goals and 56 stealsIn my senior season, I finished with 50 goals, 19 assists, and 37 steals, as well as winning 93% of sprint offsIn 2022 I competed in Junior Olympics in Texas for the Carolina Select team and we won the gold I also was named 3rd team all-state my senior yearI varsity lettered on my high school swim team 3/3 years that I swamI finished 5th in the WPIAL championships in the 50 freestyle and 8th in the 100 freestyle. My current 50 free is 21.73 and my 100 freestyle is 47.39.In my free time Throughout the school year, I worked at William Penn Parking doing valet in downtown Pittsburgh. There I learned social skills with customers and how to work efficiently.Along with valet I also worked as a lifeguard at community pools in the Pittsburgh area. Here I learned always to be alert and stay calm in stressful situations.In college, I am looking to study business, finance, and Cyber Security.
