Most of them were running Oracle databases or applications, so I added a working knowledge of those platforms to my tool kit.Boral was a small shop, giving me lots of freedom to identify issues and develop solutions to make everything run more efficiently, effectively, and quite frankly simpler for the users.

I was brought on by Boral to handle hardware deployment, diagnostics, and repair. I actively supported Oracle clients, connectivity/network, printing, VPN, and Windows XP and was receiving great feedback from business partners. However, it wasn’t long before I worked myself out of a job. I created and maintained an unattended Microsoft Windows installation disc, diagnostic runbooks, and process documentation, programming so much of my daily work that I literally eliminated the need for a PC Support Specialist. This was my first taste of automation. Totally hooked.
