Business Owner

Wax Groove Clothing

Sheffield, United Kingdom

In 2010, I started my own clothing company called Wax Groove (Previously WALO Apparel). This, at first started as a hobby, and from home I would hand draw, hand-dye and hand-print blank garments to then sell online, on BigCartel. Over the months, this grew and grew, and eventually became a business that required all of my spare time. In just under 12 months I went from producing garments at home, to having these printed by an external company. With help from my local council, I moved into a workshop in 2012, where I could deal with orders, as well as dye garments on a large scale. In time, my brand would be stocked in Stores, on ASOS Marketplace, as well as my own dedicated website. With the help from friends we would sell from our pop up shop at local festivals and events. Eventually, I expanded the brand to vintage clothing, and after invested the money I earned on buying the screen printing equipment so I could print larger volumes myself instead of using external companies, therefore cutting costs.Below are a few of the responsibilities I had whilst running Wax Groove-Graphic Design-Illustrator/Photoshop Skills-Screen printing-Vinyl Printing-Photography-Buying Stock-Controlling stock Levels-Selling Product to stores-Merchandising-Finances
