About Benjamin Hearn

People focused and results driven leader with a passion for healthcare, strategic consulting, technology commercialization, diversity and inclusion, project management, sound risk management practices, market entry/growth strategies, and business/process optimization. Anything is possible with a strong heart and an empowered team.My fear of heights is largely responsible for the person that I am today. I chose to confront it, embrace the unknown and parachute from airplanes as a career for five years. What I found is that my greatest fear became my favorite hobby and ultimately transformed my philosophy on leadership, business, and life. Success is never a guarantee, but failure through complacency is a near certainty. My early experience in banking operations developed within me a love of creative problem solving, process modeling, strategic change and cross organizational communication. The recession exposed weaknesses within our processes and I made it my personal goal each day to affect process change with a focus on risk mitigation, cross organizational collaboration, and efficiency. Every day I sought to solve problems as I love a challenge. It was the pursuit of a challenge that ultimately led me to leave my position at the bank in 2012 and enlist in the Army.My experience in the Army was unbelievably formative. I learned that my fears were both self-imposed and self-limiting and that putting aside my fear (particularly my fear of failure and assuming personal risk) allowed me to be a more effective leader. I learned the value of mentoring, inclusivity, planning, communicating, and adapting to rapidly changing scenarios on the fly. I was also able to leverage my prior civilian experience to drive strategic initiatives within my military unit by promoting cross organizational communication between functional groups where regular communication was previously a rarity. My breadth of civilian and military experiences has equipped me with a toolset that I am excited to share and apply within the challenging environment of a high-performance organization.

Listed skills include Leadership, Microsoft Office, Management, Project Management, and 6 others.
