I spent four months co-leading on the collation and daily dissemination of health data related to the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. This involved:- supporting the DHSC operational response and daily No.10 press conferences, and improving quality and presentation of data fed into cross-government briefings;- briefing senior officials, ministers and Secretary of State for Health & Social Care on COVID statistics and data governance issues;- working with devolved administrations, arms length bodies, local government, and UK Statistics Authority to develop and align data definitions and agree national frameworks for publication of COVID data;- collating, quality assuring and publishing daily testing and deaths statistics.
