The primary role of the Solutions Development Manager is to identify business needs for UPS Enterprise customers within their assigned book of business that will ultimately increase cash flow and bottom line revenue for their customers. This is accomplished by identifying, scoping, and delivering technology, engineering, sustainability, and supply chain optimization services (to name a few). The UPS Professional Services portfolio includes a surprising array of solutions for a company known for simply delivering packages. The aforementioned buckets of solutions are just a few that UPS provides to their customers. Imagine that! A supply chain consulting firm hiding inside a transportation company! P.S. We also have a multi-carrier shipping software developed and owned by UPS (hint: ShipExec powered by ConnectShip). Forward thinking, right? As a member of the High Impact Team with UPS Healthcare, I provided services to streamline our processes and increase the velocity in customer engagements. I provided consulting services and subject matter expertise on the solutions encompassing my background including manifesting systems, programming, and information systems. I also provided project management, supply chain benchmarking, and white boarding services upon request. Finally, I acted as a liaison between our customers and the UPS technical teams assigned to projects to bridge communication gaps as needed.Special assignment in 2020 and 2021: Responsible for vetting Operation Warp Speed technology and visibility requirements, selecting appropriate solutions, and deploying the solutions. Technologies included all visibility and chain of custody solutions for all COVID-19 vaccine UPS shipments. Subject matter expert on UPS Premier technology.

Enable UPS sales and solutions resources to position applicable solutions by providing subject matter expertise on the solutions we provide in the IT practice area. Provide consulting services to our customers and work in conjunction with UPS Customer Solutions resources in an effort to design a solution that will help them streamline, automate, and/or otherwise increase efficiency in their shipping and logistics operations. Once the appropriate solution is designed to fit the customer's needs, provide a detailed statement of work along with pricing quotes for the solution. Finally, act as a liaison between the customer and the project teams assigned to the project to ensure requirements are understood fully.

Develop and implement solutions that help customers improve performance in distributing and transporting their products. Duties include evaluating and configuring solutions to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction, implementing solutions, and providing required training so solutions are successfully incorporated into the customer’s business. This position is also responsible for analyzing and defining project requirements. Review customer requirements, gather and analyze data, and interview customers to determine their needs and identify possible solutions.

Integration of UPS shipping software with client’s business and accounting systems in order to streamline their shipping processes using batch import/export and automated scripting solutions. Design, implement, and complete UAT for integrations with various software platforms, web sites, database platforms, and ERPs. Manage assigned projects from conception to completion. Systems and network administration for all assigned facilities in southwest, central, and northern Idaho. Project management on a local level as corporate projects are released.

Supervised and trained employees on proper methods. Scheduled and projected staffing needs depending on package volume. Coordinated training to ensure staff skills, knowledge, and safety certifications remained current. Conducted performance evaluations/reviews for employees under my responsibility. Documented and disciplined employees as necessary. Worked 25 hours per week while attending school.
