MetricFire is a complete application and infrastructure monitoring platform built on hosted versions of Graphite and Grafana. The stack that we use is comprised of a Django/Python framework with other infrastructure tools such as Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, CircleCI, and Terraform. Additionally, we manage an add-on for our product with Heroku.

During my tenure with this fantastic company, I successfully refined my leadership and communication skills. Hired on as a manager, I quickly learned all positions in FOH/BOH while leading the team, learning the reporting systems, and leading the community fundraiser program. I implemented and taught new POS software and navigated multiple software platforms necessary for hiring, scheduling, and financial reporting. I was responsible for the profitability of the restaurant which I managed through cost of goods, labor, and all non-fixed expenses. I would speak to this regularly with upper management during monthly P&L meetings and host frequent meetings with all departments of the restaurant. I left on good terms in pursuit of a new career in software engineering.

I ran and operated a successful Denver restaurant located inside The Marquis Theater. I was managing this business since 2013 and the business was purchased by Live Nation Entertainment in 2018. My duties ranged from scheduling and payroll processing, to menu development and training. In addition to leading the team and increasing sales, I used problem-solving skills to troubleshoot daily issues. I implemented and learned how to manage new POS and payment processing software. I also used my networking skills to outsource artwork, updating the brand of the business and launching a line of merchandise.

I ran and operated a successful downtown Denver pizza restaurant, located inside of a music venue named The Marquis Theatre. I started working for this company in 2009 and was promoted to manager in 2013. It was independently owned until 2018 and I continued to work for the company after ownership had changed hands. During my management tenure, we had record sales growth and widely expanded our presence in the late-night food scene through word of mouth and a strong online presence. I helped launch a successful bicycle delivery program and updated the menu and training protocols. I managed payroll, scheduling, training, marketing, community events, cost of goods, labor, and customer retention. This job was a very valuable learning experience and put me on the path to success.
