I am an experienced and versatile Director, Head of Service, Headteacher of a virtual school and former safeguarding Officer, primary school headteacher and senior manager. I have operated for over 10 years at a senior leadership level and held a Headteacher position from 2016 to 2020 before moving into a career in the local authority with a focus on safeguarding, children in care and the virtual school.Since January 2023, in addition to the Virtual School, I have been the Acting Divisional Manager for Education (0-19) which includes responsibility for the LA’s Early Years team and the School Improvement Service. This has led me to work closely with school leaders and more broadly with LA senior leaders, as well as DfE colleagues.I had the vision and drive to lead the school team to achieve Good in its most recent OFSTED inspection in 2017 and Excellent in the school’s SIAMS (Church School’s Inspection) in 2019. I Identified the needs of the school, devised improvement plans and managed a £1.4 Million budget, ensuring high standards of education and excellent outcomes for the pupils. At the same time, I led the development and implementation of a skills and knowledge-based curriculum, and significantly improved parental satisfaction ratings.A strong, accountable and responsible leader, with an ability to stretch and motivate teams. Most definitely a team player, with a collaborative approach to management but at the same time decisive and assertive as befits the circumstances.An excellent communicator with a passion for education and improving outcomes. I bring my energy, focus and enthusiasm, coupled with analytical, organisational and man-management skills to everything I do.
