Our approach intertwines Social-Emotional Learning, Ethical Learning, Trauma-Informed Care, and robust Community Building, recognizing these communities' unique challenges.DOT was born out of a personal journey shared by educators of color, who saw a pressing need for STEM/STEAM programs that educate and foster mental wellness through culturally responsive relationships. This led us to leverage STEM/STEAM as a powerful tool to uplift Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities, focusing on nurturing problem-solving skills, sequential thinking, and healing from trauma in culturally relevant and emotionally supportive environments.
