North American Quickstep Center of Excellence - Responsible for the day to day operation of the North American Quickstep operations in Dayton, Ohio. Charged with leading the development of specific cure cycles on new and existing resin systems, with the objective of reducing cycle times and attaining the same or superior properties to those achieved by conventional technologies such as autoclave or oven curing. Responsibilities:Purchasing, Project Management, Project Engineering, Design Engineering, Process Engineer, Facilities Management, Global R&D, HR, and IT support.* Principal Investigator on the Quickstep input to the VCI AFRL “Rapid Curing of Composites using the Quickstep Manufacturing Process Program SBIR Phase I and a “Super-SBIR” $2.6 million Phase II focused on comparison of autoclave and Quickstep processes and Quickstep process materials qualification for the F-35 military aircraft system.* Worked with the development of a number of cure cycles new to the Quickstep process and includes both thick and thin structures. These resin systems include but are not limited to 977-3, 5215, and 8552 epoxies and 5250-4 BMI. * Led the development and fabrication of new curing tray equipment for the Quickstep process and is a key member of Quickstep’s global team focused on next generation curing equipment and tooling.* Processed well over 500 cure cycles on the Quickstep machine and has detailed knowledge on bagging schemes that are specific to QS; temperature management of “parts” under exothermic reactions. Led more than 17 projects over the last four years with the scope of work ranging from cure cycle development to fabrication of test panels through prototype components.
