Licensed Geologist in the State of Washington working on a mix of environmental investigation and remediation projects, and geohazard assessments on residential and commercial properties across the Pacific Northwest.

• Conduct geotechnical studies involving analysis of existing scientific data for project relevant information, collection and characterization of soil and rock samples using various drilling and hand excavation techniques, surface and groundwater level monitoring and infiltration testing, and laboratory testing of earth materials.• Install instrumentation such as inclinometers, vibration monitors, VWPs and groundwater loggers. Periodically collect, process, and disseminate data from instrumentation.• Write reports communicating project findings, including development of maps and figures in ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator.• Direct logistics for field campaigns, coordinate activities of general contractors and subcontractors, and manage communication between clients, staff, and other stakeholders.

Led an investigation of the seismic hazard facing the eastern Cascade Range. • Facilitated the academic instruction, growth and assessment of over 300 students in Introductory Geology, Geomorphology and Structural Geology courses. • Instructed students using a combination of lectures, hands-on class activities and field trips with a goal to educate students about local geology and how geology impacts our world.• Helped improve introductory lab curriculum to increase student engagement.• Received an average 4.5/5 score in student evaluations of my teaching.

• Managed logistics and construction of multiple luxury camps for 200 guests in 3-4 weeks each in all weather conditions. • Learned basic carpentry, plumbing and landscaping, taught these skills to new employees. Landscaping included experience operating a skid-steer for moving fill and gravel and grading pathways and tent pads.• Managed a team of ~10 employees and delegated daily tasks.

• Investigated the exhumation and mountain building dynamics of the Chugach Mountains in western Prince William Sound, Alaska using zircon fission track thermochronology.• Completed a month of fieldwork in western Prince William Sound and Kodiak Island mapping and collecting samples. Much of fieldwork was conducted using boats and working with remote coastal exposures in all weather conditions.• Completed 6 months of laboratory analysis of zircon fission track samples using an optical microscope with camera and mechanized stage for track counting.• Findings were presented at the KECK Geology Consortium Conference in May, 2012 and at the Geological Society of America national meeting in November, 2012.

• Guided the academic growth of 25 undergraduate students through a full trimester of a Sedimentology and Depositional Settings course. • Instructed students using both in-class activities and field trips throughout upstate New York.• Assisted students with composing detailed geologic reports for five projects during the trimester.

• Conducted an investigation of an active landslide in the state of New York using tree cores and tree ring analysis. • Slope instability findings were used as evidence to initiate statewide hazard mitigation efforts to protect homes and infrastructure.
