Ben has been working in the transport industry for more than 10 years, with a passion for improving data-lead decision making in organisations and automating processes. After working in government agencies, operators and consultancy, in 2021 Ben founded Murphy Stone Analytics with friend & colleague Matt Stone. Murphy Stone Analytics is a bespoke analytics, GIS, and operational insights consultancy, focussed on the transport and infrastructure industries.Ben has previously led the Open Data roll-out (including Google Maps Integration) for TransLink Queensland, created Journey Analysis tools for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and advised more than 30 public transport agencies and operators, throughout Australia and abroad, on improving their operations and how to better utilise their data.More recently, he also worked in Virgin Australia's Network Planning team - designing and implementing detailed network performance, commercial & competitor reporting, guiding the schedule through COVID-19 and rebuilding the network as VA relaunched following administration.When not at work, Ben enjoys cooking with friends, playing the piano, watching the Broncos attempt to avoid their second wooden spoon, and finding any excuse for a #RecreationalSpreadsheet.
