LEARNED HOW TO DANCE WITH A 900LB ORANGE GORILLAWe launched a partnership with The Home Depot that has generated over $40MM in sales and created invaluable brand equity for N-Hance. If you’ve ever been a service provider or vendor for a big box retailer, then you know we spent the first year just trying to get on the dance floor and the next six nursing bruised toes…but what a dance it has been! I'm very proud of what my team, my franchisees and our THD partners built.3. BOYCOTTED THE HOUSING MARKET COLLAPSETo say that 2008 was not an optimal time to take the reins of a fledgling home improvement business is a gross understatement. One industry report estimated that 2/3 of small remodeling companies folded during the recession. In the era of "Too Big to Fail"​, "Occupy"​ and "Foreclosuregate"​, we decided to just go ahead and build an incredible home services franchise company.A few data points from our boycott:- From 2008 thru 2014, franchise establishments in the Commercial and Residential Services space experienced a net growth of -3.1%. In the same period, the number of N-Hance franchises grew by 159%.- Not only did we add a lot of new franchises, we helped them achieve even greater success! Avg sales/franchise/year rose by 78% during my tenure. Also, franchisee's avg costs for Labor, Marketing and Materials as a % of revenue decreased by a combined 23%.- Now for the “win/win” part. During my tenure we increased annual EBITDA at the franchisor level by 540%! Yes, it is possible to be highly esteemed by franchisees AND shareholders simultaneously.
