The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Risk Control faculty and staff with projects and assignments consistent with the operations of the Risk Control Program and Center. This position also requires the active participation and assistance in all Risk Control sponsored events and seminars.Additional graduate assistant responsibilities include:- Proctor exams- Greeting all new students who enter the lab- Assist Risk Control course students with the use of lab equipment- Provide Risk Control course students with assignment related assistance- Maintain lab in an orderly fashion- Immediately report malfunctioning and/or missing equipment- Immediately mitigate student oriented conflicts- All other duties as assigned by the Risk Control faculty and staff

Assist with the maintenance and development of all campequipment, facilities and property. Serves as the primary liaisonfor risk management training, concerns and compliance. Worksdirectly with the Reservation Ranger to ensure our properties areboth safe and functional for the campers we serve.Responsibilities:-Work with the Reservation Ranger and Camp Directors to ensure the safe operation of camp (biohazards, safety data sheets, physical dangers, etc).-Work with the campers to ensure sanitary conditions in campsites and facilities.-Work with the Reservation Director to review and update the emergency procedures and assist with training all staff in such procedures. Help coordinate several drills where staffcould practice to ensure preparation for all likely emergencies.-Collect, evaluate, and maintain data concerning camper injuries, claims, worker’s compensation, and other risk‐related data.-Investigate and analyze root causes, patterns, or trends that could result in compensatory or sentinel events.-Ensure camp is in compliance with all state, federal and BSA standards and laws.-On a weekly basis walk through all buildings and program areas to ensure no major risks hazards exist. Reported issues and concerns immediately to the Reservation Director andassisted with correcting any situations.-Maintain proper functioning of all buildings, which includes heating & ventilation, painting, doors & windows, water supply, septic systems, kitchen equipment, telephones, refrigeration, and electrical items.-Maintain and repair all camp equipment, which may include watercraft, tents, bicycles, hand tools, etc.-Educate and train the camp staff as to the risk associated with their positions and their responsibilities as it relates to camper safety.-Perform other duties as assigned by the Reservation Ranger or Reservation Director.
