I am a qualified speech pathologist, an experienced project researcher in sociolinguistics and phonetics, and a dialect and voice coach, based in Sydney.As a dialect and voice coach, I have worked with dozens of private clients in the performing arts and corporate sectors, and have worked on several productions with Australian Theatre for Young People, Hayes Theatre Co, Fixed Foot Productions, Genesian Theatre Company, New Theatre, Charles Sturt University, and Australian Television Film and Radio School. I was recently Senior Research Officer and Site Co-ordinator at Macquarie University for the AusKidTalk project, creating a database of Australian children's speech recordings. For several years I have been Lead Research Assistant for the Sydney Speaks project at the Australian National University. I work as a freelance linguist for international technology companies, for text-to-speech, translation, and evaluation of automatic transcription in Australian English. I have taught foreign language at primary and secondary levels, and have tutored linguistics at a tertiary level (Macquarie University), as well as running dialect and voice workshops with performing arts students.I hold a PhB (Honours, First Class) and the University Medal from the Australian National University, and a Diploma of Performing Arts, and have continued my training in voice and dialect across multiple frameworks. I completed a Master of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Sydney, graduating with the Speech Pathology Australia Student Award for highest WAM.
