Overall thesis: Graph visualization. Visualization of multilayered graphs. Provide comprehensive visualization of document graphs. Modelling information data into multi layer graphs for visualization and mining. At INA:We apply graph visualizations to news subjects allowing visual clustering and high level information extraction. The model helps expert users to grasp the inner structure of the information putting forward the different facets of the information. The aim of our work is to offer a scalable quantitative study of the information landscape. Additionally, we seek for visual paradigms helping Ina's employees in their everyday tasks (such as thesaurus visualization...)Collaborating in the ANR Contint project OTMedia:http://www.otmedia.fr/
Research Intern
Research in the use of emotions to be included in HMI. Focus on the case of empathy and the simulation of the emotional process. In the human decision making process, emotions play an important role especially on the social relationships. A machine interacting with emotions is more socially accepted because people develop affective feelings towards it. We can think of emotions as a mean of communication. As every communication implies a protocol, empathy would allow the understanding of the carried message. By empathy, new emotions are learnt and understood by an agent. Empathy can be therefore seen as a process of emotions, that influences future behavior and expressions of emotions. This approach brings a new view on programming emotions as a mean of expression. Through them are expressed the reasons that induced a specific behavior, and empathy allows to understand, learn, and answer to the emotions. This field brings the next generation of Human Machine Interactions. The study of empathy will provide the solution for new adaptive and individualized interactions between human and machines. Research under the IITA scholarship.
Research Intern
Research in the field of emotional robotics. Expression of emotions through the body language using a humanoid robot (Bioloid).
Internship
