While pursuing my master’s degree, drove my “roving bastion of hospitality” to help people get to work, school, medical appointments, transportation hubs, and more. Brought a spark of positivity and love to people’s days, while practicing compassion and patience. Met a diverse spectrum of people across LA on different daily adventures, all while hearing fascinating stories and learning first-hand how interconnected we are, how much we have in common, and how good people are.

Spearheaded, with the USCAA CEO, the USC Alumni Relations Council. Organized award-winning annual Alumni Leadership Conference and annual Volunteer Recognition Awards and Dinner. Coordinated alumni career services task force, drafted report, and created first USC alumni career fair. Managed team of four full-time staff and $400,000 annual budget to deliver regional programming worldwide, often with top administration and faculty. Oversaw 50-plus regional clubs, 19 women’s groups, and three regional boards, including the clubs’ national annual scholarship program and yearly welcome events for new students. Drafted and implemented new charter contracts and other policies for regional clubs. Served as liaison to USCAA Board of Governors Club Affairs Committee. Promoted into positions with greater scope of responsibilities, staff, and budget twice in three years.

In the course of positions as an employment lawyer: Litigated claims of sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination, wrongful termination, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and wage and hour issues. Resolved disputes via motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and settlement. Defended claims before administrative agencies. Supervised attorneys, paralegals, and human resources staff. Advised employers on all aspects of personnel issues, including hiring and contracts, discipline and termination, trade secrets and unfair competition, family and medical leave, independent contractor issues, wage and hour, handbooks and policies. Assisted HR staff in legal compliance. Conducted on-site management training. Investigated internal complaints. Worked on loan-out for two major corporations’ in-house legal departments.
