I have over 15 years of natural resources consulting experience with WSSI, specializing in wetland delineation and other natural resources assessments. I currently manage the environmental science group and oversee staff and coordinate complex projects with other departments at WSSI.As a project manager, I am responsible for many complex and challenging tasks that our clients require to comply with the latest local, state, and federal environmental regulations. This includes tasks such as:• Wetland and other waters of the U.S. delineation• Regulatory coordination with agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality• Various natural resources inventories• Wetland and stream monitoring• Preparing permit applications to meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements• Stream assessments • Resource Protection Area studies in accordance with local Chesapeake Bay Ordinances• Preparing documentation reports and exhibits. I have significant experience conducting surveys for threatened endangered species such as the small whorled pogonia, swamp pink, harperella, and for rare plant communities. I also hold endangered and threatened species permits issued by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for surveys for the state threatened wood turtle. Technically, I like to stay up to date on the current needs of our clients. I also participate in numerous continuing education courses, seminars, and workshops to stay abreast of the current environmental regulations. Staying in tune with our clients’ current needs and anticipating future requirements helps me become a better project manager and client liaison.

Since 2001, I have worked my way up from a field intern to a project management position as Sr. Associate Environmental Scientist. I currently oversee staff and coordinate complex projects with other departments at WSSI.As a project manager, I am responsible for many complex and challenging tasks that our clients require to comply with the latest local, state, and federal environmental regulations. This includes tasks such as:• Wetland and other waters of the U.S. delineation• Regulatory coordination with agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality• Various natural resources inventories• Wetland and stream monitoring• Preparing permit applications to meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements• Stream assessments • Resource Protection Area studies in accordance with local Chesapeake Bay Ordinances• Preparing documentation reports and exhibits. For example, in 2013 I became a Certified SCUBA Open Water Diver in order to conduct freshwater mussel surveys and relocations. This is a more common requirement for some of our state and municipal clients. I also participate in numerous continuing education courses, seminars, and workshops to stay abreast of the current environmental regulations. Staying in tune with our clients’ current needs and anticipating future requirements helps me become a better project manager and client liaison.
