As an intern in the Washington D.C. office of Senator Welch, I became proficient in front-office administrative responsibilities, balancing walk-ins and phone calls while joining staff for meetings with outside organizations. I summarized meetings on numerous subjects, conducted research, and produced memoranda for legislative staff. Daily responsibilities included drafting constituent correspondence, tracking Senator's social media presence, answering phones, and being available to assist staff at a moment's notice.

As an intern, I helped lead and organize local newspaper advertising, including the creation and management of a tracking database. Demonstrated an ability to staff campaign events and interface with security to ensure seamless communication. General skillset included voter outreach both in-person and through the phone.

As an intern for Senator Patrick Leahy I learned the in's and out's of a well functioning Senate office. This job provided skills including professional etiquette and writing. I developed the ability to be first point-of-contact for constituents; directing their needs to the correct staff. This job provided me the ground work for future professional work within the federal government.
