- Develop image processing algorithms and software for evaluation and simulation of EO/IR sensors and seeker systems- Create various software tools for automating portions of simulations & experiments as well as the data analysis that follows

Throughout my final 3 semesters of undergrad, I was an engineering intern at TVA, working in the System Operations Center with the Advanced Power Applications group. This group maintains TVA's state estimator software which simulates the majority of high-kV power flow in the eastern interconnect every two minutes which allows the transmission operators to study potential system-wide effects of a change before enacting it.

I worked with a subset of the RF Communications & Intelligent Systems Group to set up and test a selection of dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) hardware in a laboratory setting as well as in the field to evaluate their real-world performance constraints, such as maximum data throughput and commication latency. This was done in order to assess how well these devices may be able to handle the high demand that will be placed on them when DSRC technology is fully implemented in city and national infrastructure.
