I am a strategic communicator and mission-driven manager with expertise in the ethics, policy, and governance of emerging technologies - with an emphasis on AI safety and alignment, data privacy, and cybersecurity. I am people-oriented and passionate about building healthy, inspired, and productive cross-functional teams who are working toward bettering technology for humanity.As a former founding partner and creative director of a successful web development company I contributed to business development, go-to-market strategy, project scoping, project management, and creative direction. I was directly responsible for the success of over 600 clients, from pre-sales consulting to post-launch training and support. I take pride in the entrepreneurial work of building something from scratch, nurturing talent, and creating a high-functioning multidisciplinary culture.In 2015, I joined a pioneering initiative at Duke University focused on the responsible progress of science and technology. Leveraging my private sector insights and a growing curiosity for emerging technology, I lead marketing and communication efforts and contribute to educational programs and research in ethics and policy. I’ve produced impactful story-driven writing, multimedia for web and social media, and feature videos, including 22, hour-long episodes for a groundbreaking digital intelligence curriculum.While working full-time, I completed a Master’s in Tech Ethics and Policy at Duke. I’ve delivered numerous presentations, workshops, and guest lectures. I’m inspired through collaboration with thinkers and dreamers. My dream job would put me on the frontier of artificial intelligence and/or cybersecurity.
