In the past 22 years, I have successfully represented clients -- both business and individuals -- in federal and state courts in California, in business litigation matters involving contract disputes, shareholder/partner disputes, and various business torts in a wide range of industries, including insurance, advertising, securities, commercial real estate, aviation, construction, food & beverage, and websites. I also have extensive experience representing clients in product liability and personal injury/wrongful death cases involving asbestos-containing products (toxic tort), and serious accidents involving aircraft, trucks, buses, automobiles, seat belts, construction equipment, industrial machinery, and other products.I have also represented successfully represented indigent clients in immigration cases and helped many individuals and families obtain temporary worker visas, visas for victims of crimes and human trafficking, employment-based immigrant visas, and "green cards" (lawful permanent resident status).Before founding The Soffer Law Firm PC, I was a partner at Perkins Coie LLP -- a prominent, top-tier national law firm with more than 1,000 lawyers.I graduated from Loyola Law School Los Angeles with honors (in the top 5% of my class), and was a member of the Order of the Coif and St. Thomas More honor societies. I have a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Penn State University, and had careers in construction and project engineering, and computer programming, before embarking on my career as an attorney.When I am not zealously representing my clients, I enjoy devoting time to my family, cooking, traveling, photography, and spending too much time following the English Premier League (especially Manchester United).
