Hi All!My name is Ben, and I'm a sophomore at the George Washington University School of Media & Public Affairs, studying political communication. At GW, I am the vice president of communications at my pre-law and government professional fraternity, Kappa Alpha Pi. I was also the outreach coordinator for our school’s yearbook this past academic year. In terms of professional experience, I had my first internship experience with the Global Connections for Women Foundation (GC4W) during my junior year of high school, where I was a content producer responsible for curating pieces about career news and advice. I held that position for about six months until about halfway through my senior year. At that time, I was appointed the first-ever student board member on my town’s board of education. I held a seat at the table during meetings, had the chance to represent my peers, and had the opportunity to hear my classmates’ concerns. This position lasted the rest of my senior year. During my first year at GW, I held two internships: a congressional internship with Ranking Member Frank Pallone and a campaign internship for Maryland State Senator Joe Vogel, who was running for Congress. My internship on the Hill was a great experience where I performed administrative duties, answered phones, attended briefings, and hosted Capitol tours. During my internship for Joe Vogel's congressional campaign, I was responsible for managing all of the interns who worked on the “Students for Vogel” Instagram account and the “Team Vogel HQ” Twitter/X account while content planning and creating the graphics. This summer, I have been working for my family’s moving company, managing their social media efforts and performing similar duties I did for Joe Vogel’s campaign. Since eighth grade (yes, middle school), I’ve been doing freelance video production work for a wide range of clients. I’ve done client events for real estate agents, bat mitzvahs, and interviews, to name a few. I intend to continue this work for the rest of my life, as it is a pleasurable creative outlet. I am also in the process of launching a social media marketing business in addition to any academic and professional endeavors I pursue!Feel free to reach out, I always love to connect with new people and share experiences!
