About Benjamin Soler

I am just beginning my career in Carpentry, and I am very excited to get out there are start building things! I've worked *in* enough buildings in my life so far, I think its about time I start helping to put some up. My experience in Safety/Security, Public Affairs, and Project Management give me a different viewpoint when approaching a job, and as I grow in my field, I think they will help me run them. My current career plan is to gain knowledge, skills, and experience as I progress through my Apprenticeship into a Journeyman, and begin to explore opportunities as an Instructor or perhaps a Safety Manager. I am fascinated by all aspects of Carpentry, though Framing and Finish work hold particular interest for me. Lastly, I am very concerned about the environment and sustainable building practices, and hope to contribute to those kinds of projects.

Listed skills include Inventory Control, Inventory Management, Third Party Logistics, Auditing, and 46 others.

Project Manager

San Francisco, California

I managed the scheduling and some logistical and communication aspects for two projects in a multi-million dollar technology refresh program. I also coordinated the internal project teams, five different external vendors, and retail locations across the US and Canada to ensure that the upgrade efforts were scheduled and executed at a steady cadence, with sensitivity to changing time zones, international holidays, and corporate blackout periods. Planned work frequently exceeded 200 activities a week, was initially scheduled at least three weeks in advance, and required continuous auditing to ensure all teams stayed aligned amidst shipping delays and store level escalations. My biggest contributions in this role were: * Improving program success rate by 20% by implementing and enforcing clear operational and communication policies and procedures. * Composing a weekly report on planned and forecasted work to my Sr. Director for use in presentations to the CIO.* Starting an initiative to pre-emptively clear paperwork obstacles from the project time line and reduce lag time to completion.
