Core Duties & Responsibilities:Installation of structured cabling systems including all aspects of the installation process.Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, specifications, prints, and cut sheets.Properly sets up a variety of copper and fiber testers.Performs system testing and troubleshooting with testers as required.Terminates, labels, tests and troubleshoots optical fiber and copper installations.Install copper and fiber closures.Proactively lead teams of 3-5 Technicians and Installers to complete project tasks.Adequately train Technicians and Installers to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of their positions.Assist in developing Technicians to complete all the tasks and responsibilities of a Lead Technician.Proactively oversee and lead job site organization and installation.Install cat 6 and RJ45 jacks for WAPS.Install WAPS, document serial and mac address of waps and test and patch them in.Build out racks, bonding, install patch panels, LIU and equipment in racks.Install ladder racks and basket trays.Run, install and patch in fiber and copper cables.Trouble shoot fiber and copper patch cables and run repairs to get equipment back up.Install, swap out and dress PDUs.Work with customer to overcome issues as they come up.Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.Maintain satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements.Excel in technical tasks such as testing and troubleshooting.Install innerduct and fiber thru manholes to feed and innerconnect the buildings

Performs work associated with splicing and maintaining outside plant facilities and equipment including all copper and fiber cables.Installs, connects, maintains, rearranges and dismantles aerial, buried, building or underground telephone plants and associated wiring and cable, including poles.Works with light and heavy duty electrical and hydraulic equipment, and with numerous hand tools in the installation and maintenance of outside plant facilities.Reads and interprets standard practices and engineering work prints and makes up daily time and material reports.Works with hot metals, torches, small hand tools, blowers, pumps, compressors, hydraulic aerial lifts, or other mechanical equipment, various test equipment and measuring devices in connection with maintaining communications facilities.Prepares newly installed cables and conductors for splicing by removing outer sheath and filling compound from buried type cable.Identifies conductors in adjoining cable sections, according to diagrams and specifications, color code and/or by means of test set.Performs some repair and maintenance functions on outside plant cable facilities.Reviews and analyzes complex schematic drawings to determine the work to be done and assure the proper sequencing of tasks.Splices wires in multiple conductor cables in aerial, underground, buried, submarine and building applications.Makes necessary tests for hazardous atmosphere before entering manhole and continues tests while working in manhole.Work with contractors and engineers on Cran jobs to splice and troubleshoot. Work with them to fix issues when they cant get a fiber connection. I would also test the fiber path after splicing to make sure it passed and met specs.
